Description
Chaga exhibits anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and anti-viral properties. It has been found to be a potent immune system modulator and adaptogen, and has the highest ORAC ( Oxygen, Radical Absorbent, Capacity) score for antioxidants ever recorded in any natural food! As with any medicinal tea, be aware of potential medications. Not recommended during pregnancy.
Preparation: For tea, place several pieces in a pot of water (smaller pieces in stainless steel tea infuser). Let simmer on low until the water becomes rich and black like coffee. At least 1-2 hours to extract its beneficial compounds. Pour a cup, (straining if necessary) re-fill pot with water, and let simmer again. Remember the chaga can be re-used several times until the tea lightens to nearly clear. It can be stored in the refrigerator between uses.
